Clariant is a software for waste management in a chemical plant. It maintains an inventory for different wastes that are produced from the different units in the plant. The wastes are destroyed, recycled or sold to other companies or other units in the same plant. All movements of the wastes are maintained in the inventory. Weekly parameters are entered into the system. At the end of the every month all calculations are made for the previous month i.e., at the end of November all calculations are made for the month of October. It is done so because various data may need to be analyzed before they can be entered into the system.

The software has 10 modules each dealing with a different kind of waste product treatment plant e.g. – the AVORA module deals with the wastewater treatment plant etc. Each module has its separate database. Apart from this it has a reporting module and a common module that is called to make all the calculations.
